From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The Federal Trade Commission should get the hell out of the journalism business. The proposed actions are draconian and will result in a state-run media which will murder the free press. This is unthinkable and un-American, preposterous and despicable. The FTC has no business trying to curtail our freedom of speech on the internet. The FTC has no business trying to foster a league of partisan journalists. The FTC has no business bailing out failed newspapers or taxing consumer electronic products in order to fund this dastardly scheme. We the people demand that the FTC destroy the report on "The Future of Journalism" and never let any of its recommendations see the light of day.
