From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I am opposed to the FTC's recommendations regarding a government "bailout" or revitalization plan of the news media. If news media are having difficulties surviving, they should find out why and change or simply go under. Any bailout or revitalization of our news media by our federal government would make the news media the propaganda arm of the government as opposed to being a free press. Additionally, the U.S. is already in debt and running deficits, we cannot afford to engage in the unconstitutional act of "bailing out" our national media. Please drop such recommendations with regards to bailing out the media which would end up suppressing free speech which goes against our U.S. Constitution. Thanks.
