From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The internet and satellite radio and other independent sources of information have demonstrated their value in opening up communication to all players over the past 10 years. The idea that somehow they are now in "need" of this kind of regulation is anathema to the freedom and low cost of the alternative media, and can only be interpreted as a mechanism for the executive to once again grasp authority not given by the people and tax revenue not willingly given up to allocate to purposes which are questionable at best and underhanded, biased, and counterproductive at worst. LEAVE THE INTERNET AND RADIO MEDIA ALONE!!!! The last thing this country needs is a corps of committed socialists propagating government approved information (propaganda).
