From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
Liberals, by trying to pass legislation to eliminate or restrict conservative talk radio, are taking the coward's way out. While liberals should have radio voices to listen to, it's their responsibility to provide programming that people will choose to listen to. It is a known fact that radio stations overwhelming prefer conservative talk shows like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Mark Levin because these shows have from 5 to 20 million listeners every day. Stations and advertisers avoid liberal talk shows because they are constant money losers for both parties. The responsibility for competition in the radio marketplace should fall on liberals to provide interesting and thoughtful programming, as opposed to their current plan, which is to put the clamps on conservative talk radio because it is highly successful while theirs is not.
