From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
The FTC or FCC should not be in the business of either promoting or restricting any agenda or point of view or means of delivery of any agenda, point of view or political comment. Things like the "Reinvention of Journalism" or "Fairness Doctrine" are directly in violation of the First Amendment to the Constitution. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Taxing any form of speech or press is abridging that freedom. Funding any form of speech or press is the same as taxing opposition and is against the first amendment.
