From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
To Whom It May Concern,_x000B__x000B_I am extremely alarmed by the move of the FTC to take over the media as outlined in the latest report, “Potential Policy Recommendations to Support the Reinvention of Journalism”. This is a violation of the First Amendment of our Constitution!! This is an issue of antitrust - the government does not belong controlling the media. Our free speech MUST be protected if we are to remain a free country! There should be no additional money spent on the media – no citizenship media fund. There should be no controlling of the airwaves. If a station wants to continue to only express a specific viewpoint, be it to the political left or right, they have the right to do so! The liberals who now control the government talk a lot about being "open" and wanting to protect rights (ex. ACLU...). But in actuality, as shown with this report, they are anything but! They are taking away our rights and they are doing it as quietly as they possibly can - behind closed doors. Why isn't the media talking about this? Because they know that the people don't want government controlled media!!_x000B__x000B__x000B_The FTC needs to get its hands away from the media._x000B__x000B__x000B_Sincerely,_x000B__x000B_Dr. Tonia Rex
