From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
There is no doubt in my mind that this violates the Constitutional Freedom of the Press. Government subsidizing the press can only lead to press dependence on the government and completely destroy the objectivity of the press. This is being kind. I actually think that this is a move by the government to influence the press and pervert the objective reporting of what the government is doing. I totally object to this socialist move by the government to influence the press. I do not believe that this does, in any way, come under the pervue of the FTC. Additionally, the government has spent way too much money on bail outs and should cease bailing out or funding additional projects and organizations that otherwise should exist or fail on the marits of there ability to meet consumer needs.
