From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
To Whom This May Concern; One of the fundamental pillars of the United States is the existence of the Free Press as deliniated in the Bill of Rights. From the phampleteers of the Colonial Period to the internet bloggers of today, we have always had the expression of ideas unfettered by government interference or control. I also disagree with some of the opinions expressed by many of the commentators of today, but I have the ability to seek out the opposing opinions. I am the judge of what I believe to be factual and having a Government entity with the power to influence the press, either financially or through censorship is anathema. The Government has its' own power to disseminate information and should leave the individual commentators to express their opinions.
