From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
I would like to voice my strong opposition to the initiative by agencies of the Federal government to assume control of what is supposed to be a free press. A free press is just that. It is not a press that is dependent on government largesse for its survival. An organization that depends on government subsidies and hand-out cannot be called either free or independent. This is a most dangerous and pernicious course the FTC is taking and I will make sure that every member of my congressional delegation knows of my feelings.
