From Town Criers to Bloggers: How Will Journalism Survive the Internet Age?
There are NO private institutions that deserve TAX dollars or subsidies of any kind. It is time for the government to take ten steps backward, away from takeovers of private industry. If a media company, whether it is print or radio or television, is incapable of operating within its budget, then LET IT FAIL!!!! Americans are tired of having their hard-earned tax dollars spent to prop up losing companies. The government has absolutely NO business dictating who should succeed and who should fail...the market is quite capable of performing that task. Please remember that 'the best government is the least government' and keep any further expansion of FTC powers OFF THE TABLE. More regulation is NOT fact, LESS regulation should be the order of the day. If you wish to live in a state-run country, then I suggest any who believe this way move to Venezuela or Cuba or any other dictator-led country - AND LEAVE AMERICA ALONE! We Americans are quite used to the freedoms that our founding fathers worked hard to put in place via the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights. We would like to think that our leaders who have taken an oath to uphold the Constitution would agree. America IS the land of opportunity, where ANYONE can succeed if they try!! And if they do not succeed, then they should be allowed to FAIL and learn from their mistakes! Many successful individuals have failed many times before achieving success, Donald Trump comes to mind. If the government keeps stepping in to prevent failure, businesses will not have the opportunity to learn the error of their ways. The government has no idea how to run ANYTHING in the black...after all, they can always just print more money! We do NOT need more government interference in the daily operation of our country!
