16 CFR Part 425: "Rule Concerning the Use of Prenotification Negative Option Plans"
I am an actuary and always considered myself a fairly sophisticated consumer. I saw the Reservatrol trial, allegedly endorsed by Dr. Oz, CNN, and others and decided to try it. I can say I did not see anything saying that I was agreeing to or signing up for anything further than the "free trial." Only after several rediculous charges of nearly $90 plus "foreign interest charges" did I find out that it was a scam. I immediately called Visa and the company. The company alleged that the page stated that I was agreeing to the charges. I said I did not. In any case, the sting was for nearly $200. So far the company has refunded only $87 although I returned their "free sample" with none used. They must be fighting Visa because Visa now wants more documentation although I gave all I had. These liars/cheats/crooks should be put out of business. They scam at least $100 plus out of everyone it appears.
