16 CFR Parts 317 and 318: Mortgage Assistance Relief Services Rulemaking
We have tried to work with AMMA (American Mortgage Modification Association) located in Washington DC to help us with a modification. We paid them $2500 to assist in all transactions on our behalf. Unfortuantely they were worthless and our home ended up being placed into foreclosure which has since caused us to file Chapter 13. They claim they are legitimate and they claim to provide a refund if a modification was made. How is someone supposed to know what is a legitimate company and what is not. I did what I thought was good investigating of this company. Find out on your own by calling them at 877-519-6575 and the head of the so called negotiations department is John Hoxsey. They are terrible at returning phone calls and in providing timely answers. I am so frustrated and so angry. What can the government do to prevent this from happening to other families feeling like they are total dispair.
