We have attempted since 01/06/09 to receive a loan modification on our mortgage. Litton has not done this with a list of excuses that are unacceptable. In late May when they did send a Modification. They said they are not participating in the Home Affordable Modification. The Modification they presented wanted the 06/01/09 loan payment in the middle of May, 2009. They wanted an additional $307.21 claiming they needed additional escrow funds. Modification stated that the payment would not go toward our mortgage loan for 3 months. Would go into a fund - and at that time they would report us delinquent to all 3 credit reporting agencies for 3 months. They would then at the end of 3 months decide if they wanted to give us a loan modification and apply the funds they received from us to the most delinquent month on our loan. Therefore being 3 months behind they could start foreclosure. We have a Non-Conforming loan ARM 8.85% - are not as of yet behind on payments. But REAL CLOSE thanks to Litton. Realizing they do not have to give us a modification I have asked at least a dozen times to legal authority, BBB, Housing Authority etc. Why do they do this? We qualify for a Modification - my husband has had a 60% decrease in salary in Feb. 2009. Litton acts like if they have to bend it will be any way to screw us!!! Have tried to do a re-finance but are not able to bring $17,000. to the table. Have read for weeks all the complaints against Litton Loan - we have realized they could care less. Our arm was to esclate in Jan. 2009. Due to the index our loan papers state that Litton should have followed the loan and decreased the loan to 5.53%. They refused to comply. We are out of options and hope. Everyone has told us Litton can do what they want. Very frustrated. From January 2009 to May 2009 when you spoke to anyone at Litton Loan they put you off, straight out said they had no information on any modification, told you your loan was on hold, told you you either get a modification or a denial. The modification was not even close to what it should be for a payment in conjunction with the information submitted on our finances. A modification payment should be in the area of $1,660.00 The one they offered was $1,900.00. Our current payment is $2,366.89.
