I disagree with the FTC's Proposed Consent Agreement. 1) MTNA is a community of teachers and the Ethics Code was set forth to guide how members should act in this particular community. They were not economically driven. 2) MTNA represents ONLY A FRACTION of music teachers and the FTC is over-reaching to act that this organization is influencing the marketplace. 3) MTNA has already agreed to take out the portion of the Ethics Code that the FTC is concerned with. To force MTNA to maintain an antitrust compliance program with MTNA's limited staff and resources, creates an undue hardship on the organization. They have already spent many man-hours and attorney's fees fighting with the FTC and further action just adds insult to injury.
