Interesting that the FTC should rule against an organization that is an association for music teachers that is volunteer and not obligatory to teaching music. There are no Federal (or state) requirements for licencing or certifiying teachers of music. How you ever got this issue as a bee in your bonnet is beyond me. I will continue to follow the ethics guidelines of the organization. I am a volunteer. What I choose to follow or beleive is not for you to govern. I will not solicit students from other teachers because frankly, we don't have enough teachers in our area who are qualified to have to poach from other teachers. Why not go after the Bernie Maddoffs and the real violators of the law instead of music teachers who make so very little as far as gross income, work mainly out of their homes, are mostly female and over the age of 50. Don't you guys have better things to do? Jodie Jensen, NCTM
