Guides for the Use of Environmental Marketing Claims, Project No. P954501
hi -- as one of the growing number of consumers concerned about what they are putting on their skin, finding organic products is important to me. For my mother, who suffers from several chemical sensitivities and allergies, it's a necessity. Now my mother-in-law has learned that she is allergic to chemicals found in many lotions and makeup products. When we shop we want to know what's in these products and what's safe for us. When I see the word organic I want to know that that means the entire product, not just one or two ingredients. Please enforce truth in labeling. Also, it would be nice if ingredient lists were required to use type that is readable without a magnifying glass. It's hopeless for my 87 year old mother-in-law to shop for herself because she can't read the labels. I'm 45 and I can't even read some of them they are printed so small. But at least if there were an organic standard we'd all feel more secure about the products we choose. Bottom line: IF A PRODUCT IS LABELED ORGANIC IT SHOULD BE ORGANIC -- ALL OF IT.
