I am increasingly aware of more and more violations of my privacy by companies. Apple tracks what I do on my iphone, companies track where I shop via my credit card, when on the internet I am constantly being tracked. It becomes such a gray area when children are on the internet. Children don't know what they are agreeing to, I don't think most adults read or understand these companies' privacy policies. Children don't know what information to give or not to give online. The companies don't know if it's really the child allowing the information to be given to them or the parent. In addition, there are an increasing number of children's products that allow them web access, and internet access is now a basic skill children need to have for first grade. I do agree that web access for children should be supervised, however I do not agree that these companies should have a right to take our children's privacy away without a legitimate signature from their parents.
