A Preliminary FTC Staff Report on "Protecting Consumer Privacy in an Era of Rapid Change: A Proposed Framework for Businesses and Policymakers"
I am in favor of a Do Not Track capability for consumers. Corporations already have too much information about their customers, which they use to manipulate their fears. If people want to receive offers and advertising, it will be easy enough for them to do that. But those of us who don't want any additional advertising in our mental space should have the choice to opt out. I hope that the FTC will proceed with this initiative to protect consumers.
