I don't understand why the FTC would bother harassing and bullying a small, non-profit organization such as MTNA, which exists to encourage musical excellence in our country by lifting up and encouraging teachers through workshops, training, concerts, conferences, certification, resources and networking. My understanding is that the FTC does not even have jurisdiction over non-profit organizations and is wasting precious tax dollars and the dollars of our non-profit group through this ludicrous process! Music teachers don't have time, energy nor resources for this kind of nonsense because we work many hours educating and encouraging our students. NO ONE becomes wealthy being a music teacher and we give far more than we ever receive in compensation. I do NOT consider my colleagues competitors and often refer inquiring students to local colleagues when I don't have room for another student in my teaching schedule. We meet together to encourage one another in an often lonely and challenging profession.
