I just heard about the attempts of the FTC to try to remove the code of ethics from the MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) which states that MTNA frowns upon private music teachers who are a part of the MTNA from trying to steal students from other private music teachers. This code of ethics is only sensible and provides a decent and trustworthy way of doing business within the MTNA. Who wants to have one of their students harrassed by another greedy teacher who wants what another teacher has?! This is absolutely outrageous and insane to have this decent code of ethics removed!! Private music teachers should feel safe from any unethical behavior of another private music teacher who would try to take one of their students from them. This code of ethics is in place in order to help to establish and maintain a sense of trust and comraderie between private music teachers. It would be unthinkable to remove it from the MTNA code of ethics! Please do not allow this to happen!! Please use some common sense and common decency to see that having such a code of ethics in place within the MTNA is extremely important to prevent other unethical teachers from behaving in such an unethical way toward their colleagues. If this wise code of ethics is removed from the MTNA, one can only imagine the fruit of such a decision...and that would surely be rotten fruit to say the least!!! I can't imagine anyone with any amount of decency or common sense trying to remove this code of ethics from the MTNA. Please don't let that happen!!!
