I'm grateful to be an American citizen, and it's my constitutional right in providing my comment for the proposed consent agreement between MTNA and FTC Commission. First, I feel it is 'unjustified' for the FTC to claim MTNA is an organization involved in an 'anti-competitive' conspiracy. As an Executive Member of an MTNA local affiliate, I am fortunate to be part of a very outstanding, respectful organization. My studio has grown substantially because I am an MTNA member and an NGPT member. Prospective parents and students desire a piano teacher with credentials and experience. Secondly, it is a shame that MTNA had to remove a clause from its Code of Ethics that in my opinion, is not necessary. Ethically and morally speaking, IF I WERE NOT a member of MTNA or NGPT, I would NOT engage in soliciting students from another hard-working, dedicated Piano Teacher. Lastly, since MTNA has had to remove the 'solicitation clause' from the Code of Ethics, I am in FULL AGREEMENT for this CONSENT DECREE and hope that the FTC will approve and reach a settlement. Thank you, Deborah Fleming
