Hasn't the FTC got anything more important to do than go after a minor association like the music teachers'? The MTNA represents beleaguered, highly talented but low paid teachers who often are barely scraping by. In a lifetime of studying music and being involved with classical music competitions in several urban areas I have never heard a complaint about unfair competition. This David and Goliath situation is a ridiculous misuse of authority and shows an appalling lack of judgment on the part of the FTC. The FTCs actions in this situation confirm the worst failings of bureaucracy and give ammunition to every foe of government oversight.
