Proposed Consent Agreement In the Matter of Phusion Projects, LLC, Jaisen Freeman, Christopher Hunter, and Jeffrey Wright, FTC File No. 112 3084
I am very upset as I have learned you have negotiated a deal with the FourLoko ie Phusion Products Company. This is a product that needs to go away. It is unsafe, does not follow the Federal Government's own safety standards for alcohol consumption of 1 drink per day for woman and 2 per day for men. This is a drink which appeals to young people, not adults. It is marketed to children. Why would you allow this behavior to continue. As a mother I have strong objections to this product. A cap is not going to make it a drink that one will use a bit and come back to later. It is meant to be used all at once and if you ask teenagers what they would do with it or college students, they will tell you they plan to drink it all at once and to drink more than one if they can. How can you sleep at night" This action by the FTC will undermine public safety and health as well as our trust in you to do the right thing. Your job is to keep unsafe products out of the hands of consumers. This is an unsafe product. Please, do not approve this or strike this deal.
