Why should you stand by and allow Staples to be consumed so that its components can be sold for the highest profit when it serves a great need in our locality? It is a valuable resource of up to date technology and office supplies at a reasonable price point. Allowing it to be "merged" with another company will only result in prices rising and service dropping. Already Walmart's Sams Club in Texas is experimenting with self-checkout only stores; .eg no service. I'm sure they are NOT passing the savings in labor costs on to the customers. How long before this is the norm everywhere? What about those of us (like me) that are disabled that require assistance checking out and getting goods to our car? Higher prices are a disaster for those of us on Medicare or Disability; a great many of us have no "slack" in our budgets. Rising prices can mean doing without important things, such as the ability to send or receive FAXes to our doctors, insurance carriers, or lawyers. Please reconsider this business re. Staples. I don't think it best serves the public interest. Thank you.
