In the Matter of Staples/Essendant, Inc., File No. 1810180
Please reject the proposed Staples merger. The public has seen scenarios, like this proposed Staples merger,in the past. Historic scenarios, where wealthy investors picked apart companies, include Sears, Toys R'Us, Hot Topic, and Nine West. When these companies were picked apart by wealthy investors, they were inundated with debt, forced to slash employee headcounts thru massivelayoffs, and(or) had to severely cut employees' wages and benefits. In the end, these companies were either sold to the highest bidder, or closed entirely. The American public does not want these practices to continue. It is long overdue to stop sacrificing our hard-working American citizens, in favor of providing tax breaks to the top 1%, and(or) providing more incentives for the top 1% to get riche at the expense of everyone else. Hard-working American citizens continue to experience job loss(es) and(or) decline(s) in their standard(s) of living. This is the reason the American people are presently standing up against these practices. The advocacy of our hard-working American citizens is a necessity today, so that we can bring our nation back to a time and place where hard work and education means increased economic opportunity(ies). Thank you very much for your prompt attention and consideration. It is greatly appreciated.
