Monopolies are illegal. Antitrust laws exist to prevent the general public from price gauging by eliminating or limiting competition. But much like the NFL, AT&T, the tobacco industry and now theses predatory hedge funds, are testifying that their grab for control or minimizing completion by purchasing competitors, meets the big lie, "The merger will benefit competition and lower the cost of products sold to the consumer." This is what Antitrust Law was created to protect against but big money in the past 50 years has largely overcome opposition to creation of companies and conglomerates that eliminate competitors or narrow down competition to a few very large competitors that seem to somehow agree.on prices that discourage new competitors while making huge profits. That's how competition can be destroyed! We must stop these practices where only the wealthy benefit
