FTC to Hold Workshop Examining Online Event Ticket Sale - Agency Seeks Input in Advance of March 2019 Workshop; Project No. P18450
Ticketmaster is deceptive with how they specify their fees. The fees are not provided until the final "Confirm Purchase" page, they do not provide a total amount for the fees, and the fees are not listed in the same column on the invoice as other charges, making it easy to miss them or underestimate their amount. I can provide an example .pdf of a recent invoice, but this gives you an idea: Tickets: $93X5 Fees: $4.55 (Order Processing Fee) $13.80 (Service Fee) x 5 Delivery: eTickets Free ----------------------------------------------------------- $538.55 $73.55 for fees! I tried in vain to find an alternative way to purchase tickets, but couldn't even find a time or location for a box office through the venue's web site. Does TicketMaster force the venue to remove alternative sources of purchasing tickets?
