I agree with civil penalties for companies engaged in all forms of false advertising. The People should be able to make informed purchase decisions, and all forms of false advertising and intentional misrepresentation can and should be penalized for intentionally obstructing good decision making. I'll go a step further to say that I believe that those civil penalties should scale in size depending on the scale of the business attempting to scam the public.
