Why doesn't the FTC actually take some action to protect the general population from all the unwanted phone calls we receive? The DO NOT CALL REGISTRY does not work. Why aren't the callers prosecuted or their phone lines just disconnected? Then, I'd bet they would pay attention to the Do Not Call Registry! And why are charities and political calls allowed? I already know whom I will contribute to and for whom I will vote? Also, why are these scammers and unwanted sales-pitch callers allowed to lie to us by using "the number you have called is no longer in service or has been disconnected" or 'the number you have called is not a working number"? This is what I get when trying to call the number to ask that my number be removed from their mailing list. It all seems so very unfair to tax-paying citizens! It seems the Government is no longer "for the people"! Like businesses, it seems to have become overrun with greed. I don't even want to get started on the USPS! For decades, our area has never had a regular delivery person nor general delivery time. Our mail comes anywhere between 9:30 a.m. and as late as seven p.m. I mailed a card in May, only to receive it back August 24, with no postal markings or dates, because my daughter had closed on the sale of their house on August 6 and moved. This also happened to a friend in Iowa. I know you are not the postal system, but just letting you know you are not the only government agency that seems uncaring about the general, unimportant citizens. Thank you.
