Hearing #1 On Competition and Consumer Protection in the 21st Century - Sept. 13-14 at Georgetown University Law Center
I am concerned about lobbying by Internet Service Providers to pressure the FTC to drop net neutrality protections. Democracy depends on free access to information, and allowing ISPs to control the speed and content of what gets prominence on the Internet is only slightly less disturbing than the preponderance of Russian trolls taking over social media. Please make sure to keep net neutrality protections intact, as the FCC chairman promised the FTC would do when he deregulated previous protections. Also please make sure that states continue to have the power and authority to enact their own net neutrality laws.
