The undersigned trade associations, representing a range of interests and sectors that are responsible for over $5 trillion of economic activity annually and employ approximately 54 million Americans, write to provide input to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to inform its hearings on whether broad-based changes in the economy, evolving business practices, new technologies, or international developments might require adjustments to competition and consumer protection enforcement law, enforcement priorities, and policy. Specifically, we join together to respond to Question 8 posed by the FTC (The role of intellectual property and competition policy in promoting innovation) through the attached letter and appended white paper.
