In the Matter of CoreLogic, Inc., a corporation, File No. 131 0199
Let me start by saying I believe whole heartedly that the AMC industry has market power on price of real estate appraisals both to borrowers and real estate appraisers when appraisals are performed for federally insured financial institutions. That is a different synopsis relative to Corelogic but not really different since Corelogic owns and are acquiring so many different real estate related entities like multiple listing services, appraisal delivery platforms, appraisal education providers, appraisal management companies, and now the biggest appraisal software provider in alamode. Please let the government provide appraisal software for federally insured financial institutions and a delivery platform for appraisals to federally insured financial institutions. Please let the government enforce customary and reasonable fees for appraisers and also let the government engage appraisers when the purpose of the appraisal is for mortgage purposes for federally insured financial institutions. In some ways I would like for this comment to be held confidential, but the oligopsony that is in place has about killed the appraisal profession due to market power on price. So, I can likely look for other employment soon anyway if a potential client blackballs me because they recognize my name.
