The acquisition of Total/AlaMode by Core Logic is going well beyond what is in the public interest. Great strides have been made to separate the elements of the loan process by changing the appraiser's entire business model with the introduction of the AMC making all of our years of contacts and the integrity and trust we have built obsolete. At what point will the control of the aspects of the process by Core Logic be stopped? When does it become an anti-trust issue? I, at this time, cannot complete a report without using a Core Logic controlled product. How does that serve the public with integrity when they control everything. They have proven that they do not have the best interests of the profession at the core of their actions. Everything they have taken over has become more expensive to use and they add absolutely no benefit. The appraiser shortage at this time is a myth. There is only a shortage of people who are willing to work for less than they did 15 years ago. If this continues I have to say that the shortage will become real. I do not know a single appraiser, and I do know many, who has any faith or trust in Core Logic and their motives. You can file this away and read it later and remember that "we told you so" when they contribute to more fraud than you have ever seen by having too much control of the real estate finance process. Please reconsider allowing this to move forward. Look at the big picture and look forward just a little bit and you will see it. It is NOT a pretty picture. Thank you for your time.
