This correspondence is being sent to you in light of the latest acquisition by Core Logic of Al a Mode, an appraisal software company under the name of e Tech Solutions, headquartered in Oklahoma City, OK. As an appraiser and an interested citizen of this country, it is my concern that all the acquisitions obtained by Core Logic has violated Antitrust laws. With this latest acquisition, Core Logic has now been able to own the following portions of the real estate and real estate appraisal industry: Education- Core Logic bought Columbia Insititute Data retention- Real Quest and Real Stats property information databases Data acquisition- nationwide MLS systems known as Matrix Cost data- Core Logic bought Marshal & Swift Appraisal ordering platform- Acquisition of the Mercury Network, an online appraisal ordering system AMC (Appraisal Management Co)- acquisition of FNC and the online AMC portal known as Appraisal Port A la Mode- the largest appraisal software provider that includes a new element to the program that includes property data collection In addition to these acquisitions, based on the 17 entities that Core Logic has purchased since 2009, these include Insurance Underwriting which provides insurance and document management, assessor data, sales lead generation within real estate, online software for lending institutions, fraud and risk management software for lending institutions, etc. It is my belief that the acquisition of these companies is a violation of Antitrust laws. It is my recommendation that the FTC thoroughly investigate this and take all necessary steps to ensure that they are not in violation of Antitrust laws.
