FTC 16 CFR Part 315 Public Workshop Examining Contact Lens Marketplace And Analyzing Proposed Changes To The Contact Lens Rule
This rule is unnecessary and a burden and comes at a cost to both providers and patients . The average estimated cost of implementing this rule is on average at least $18,000. The increased cost of operations is typically always passed on the consumer. As the current law stands, eye doctors already have to by law provide a patient with a copy of their contact lens prescription at the end of an exam and as such this new rule seems highly unnecessary. I would highly recommend that the FTC reconsider such actions before proceeding . Thank you.
