FTC 16 CFR Part 315 Public Workshop Examining Contact Lens Marketplace And Analyzing Proposed Changes To The Contact Lens Rule
This is not the way to fix the problems that stem from contact lens sales. The issue is 100% on the side of the online retailers and their illegal sales. Patients aren't complaining that doctors won't release their prescriptions. It's the online retailers lying to you. Do you know how many patients I see each year who got their contacts illegally online and are having problems? Dozens. And that's just me as a single doctor. If I am seeing dozens then that means that all the other docs in town are likely seeing dozens too. That's hundreds in one small city. These companies substitute prescriptions illegally, refill prescriptions illegally, and completely lie to patients about this all being our fault somehow. It's the online retailers lying to you to make our jobs harder. Instead you should target the online predatory companies like simply contacts, 1800, lens.com and others.
