FTC 16 CFR Part 315 Public Workshop Examining Contact Lens Marketplace And Analyzing Proposed Changes To The Contact Lens Rule
Please do not burden doctors of optometry with more paperwork. This is clearly a bill written by lobbyists who work for companies like 1-800 contacts. These companies care more about making money than they do about a patient's ocular health. I have seen online sellers refill contact lens Rxs without verification even after the Rxs are expired. They even change brands without a doctor's consent. They even advertise online eye exams to refill contact lens Rxs and ignore the complete eye health examination. I went through years of training to obtain my license, but these online vendors act as if they are a doctor. I've been told the online vendors don't care if they are fined for bad practices, they just pay it as a cost of business. Patients already know they can buy anything online. Please do not disrupt my practice with burdensome paperwork that serves no purpose.
