FTC 16 CFR Part 315 Public Workshop Examining Contact Lens Marketplace And Analyzing Proposed Changes To The Contact Lens Rule
I am opposed to the proposed Contact Lens Rule. I don't see how this is nothing more than a sanctioned money-grab for unscrupulous contact lens retailers. Contact lenses are prescribed medical devices that, for some reason, have become commodities that are sold by companies with no vested interest in the welfare of the public. They act as if contacts should be treated as a pair of socks that anyone can buy for any reason. My spouse was recently injured by contact lenses. This got me thinking, when was the last time a sock permanently damaged a person's vision. It's time to give eye care providers an even playing field when it comes to contact lenses. Vote down this absurd proposed Rule.
