FTC 16 CFR Part 315 Public Workshop Examining Contact Lens Marketplace And Analyzing Proposed Changes To The Contact Lens Rule
I write you today to express my strong opposition to the proposed change to the Contact Lens Rule requiring a written acknowledgement of prescription release. It seems to me that this is a regulation in search of a problem, with only a few hundred complaints for literally millions of prescriptions written. In this milieu of increased volumes of regulations imposed on practitioners in the form of MIPS, MACRA, MUs, EHRs etc, it seems as though you have a chance to be magnanimous, and relieve us yet another regulation that does not add to patient safety or patient choice. Please consider not passing this rule. Thank you for your attention in this matter. Sincerely, Jeffrey W. Jones, OD
