FTC 16 CFR Part 315 Public Workshop Examining Contact Lens Marketplace And Analyzing Proposed Changes To The Contact Lens Rule
I oppose the proposed changes to the Contact Lens Rule in that it is a ploy for marketers to obtain advertising for their products at the expense of the provider of the contact lens prescription. The proposal goes against the present public trend to reduce the cost of health care and unnecessary paper work. It is a common sense reason why a patient/consumer is not given a notice for alternate purchasing options when they visit a dentist, an orthopedic or a shoe salesman. The proposed rule change in the Contact Lens Rule is offensive to contact lens patients in that it assumes that only contact lens patients are so naive that they require special assistance in purchasing decisions
