FTC 16 CFR Part 315 Public Workshop Examining Contact Lens Marketplace And Analyzing Proposed Changes To The Contact Lens Rule
Contact lenses are medical devices that if not properly fitted may scratch the eye or cause blood vessels to grow into the cornea. Because a lens can warp over time, and the cornea can change shape, the fit and material of the contact lens and the power should be re-evaluated on a regular basis by optometrist. Optometrists are doctors that are extensively trained to properly fit the right type of contacts and no one else should be interfering and changing what the eye doctor prescribes. Public will be put in danger if contact lenses are not regulated properly.
