FTC 16 CFR Part 315 Public Workshop Examining Contact Lens Marketplace And Analyzing Proposed Changes To The Contact Lens Rule
I want to state my concerns on the proposed change requiring a doctor to receive written confirmation from a patient that they have the right to their prescription. This is a meaningless change as all patients already have this right. It is forcing extra work by staff and unnecessary data management while these documents are stored. In an age where medical records are being kept electronically this process will require a paper form to be printed, read to the patient, signed and then scanned into that patients record. To have to do this and manage the amount of storage to keep the forms for the set time is unreasonable.
