RE: Picture Tube Rule (No. P174200) I received your e-mail notice about the proposed repeal of this rule this morning, but there is no statement justifying the repeal. This makes me wonder who benefits from its repeal; certainly not the American consumer. It's titillating to make broad public statements about having too many regulations, and we need to reduce the number to stimulate the economy, but there is nothing wrong with keeping a consumer protection rule in place that does no harm by its existence, except to potentially fraudulent manufacturers, and great harm to the consumer by its repeal. Please inform me how the existence of this rule is so harmful that you would consider repealing it.
