Understanding Competition in U.S. Prescription Drug Markets: Entry and Supply Chain Dynamics
Dear Sir(s), Thank you for this opportunity to comment on PBM's and competition in the prescription drug marketplace. I have been a community pharmacy owner for 15 years in the state of New York. I believe PBM practices should be investigated. I believe some practices limit competition and ultimately contribute to higher costs for patients. Other practices such as misinforming or giving patients the impression they must use the PBM mailorder are unethical if not illegal! If we don't do something now we will someday lament the change of our healthcare from local, personal and caring to distant, cold and less effective! Please take a long hard look at the proposed merger of CVS and aetna. CVS is currently under fire from a multitude of Pharmacy organizations for questionable business practices. I believe this will hurt competition! Sincerely, Darren Pynn
