Understanding Competition in U.S. Prescription Drug Markets: Entry and Supply Chain Dynamics
At a time when drug prices are soaring out of control and PBM's are making more money today than they ever have before, something needs to be done. And it starts with asking questions. Why won't the PBM's share there books? The Federal Government with the Medicare program should be able to see what each company charges the pharmacy and then in turn what they ask the Government to reimbursed for the same charge. Why are they reluctant to share these numbers? Maybe it's because they take so much more from the government than they give to the pharmacy for reimbursement of the medications they fill. Maybe that would explain why the insurance companies profits are through the roof since the inception of the Medicare D program. If the Government wants to save money, shouldn't they know how they are spending it first? Shouldn't they know where our money is going? What is being paid out? Once you start asking those questions then you will truly see the waste these large corporations are creating in our system and the money we as the American people are simply handing blindly to these PBM's. I urge you to open your eyes and understand how these PBM's are taking advantage of us and put a stop to it. You can be the difference and save money that the American people could use for other great programs. Thank you for your time.
