Understanding Competition in U.S. Prescription Drug Markets: Entry and Supply Chain Dynamics
The idea that PBM's save money is ludicrous. I have watched my profit margins decimated while drug cost continue to rise. If I'm not getting paid more and the customers are not saving, it is obvious wher the money is going. Look at the profits the PBM's are reaping! The monopolies being created in the health care market are not for the best interest of the consumer. They are for less than stellar patient care and satisfaction and more about profits. This vertical integration with no transparency will continue to make medications less affordable and accelerate the cost of medications. I could go on and on about DIR fees, MAC pricing, formulary issues, patients going without medications, access to medications, etc, etc, but you are aware of how they operate. I hope this issue gets maximum scrutiny. Thank you, Walt
