I feel that this settlement is a 'slap on the wrist'. I do not know the ins and outs of consent agreements. But I can see there was wrongdoing, misleading statements and articles. Yet there are no fines or penalties to the company or people responsible. Yes I know they have to keep records of their advertising. But, who is going to check up on them. Is the FTC going to ask for these records on a regular basis? Right now in one of their magazines are articles of satisfied soldiers. I would say half of these articles have an asterisk, and at the bottom it says this is a company that advertises in the magazine. This type of notice(*) should be more prominent. This paragraph may not belong in 'comments' on this settlement since it appears this was not addressed, but I am leaving it in because it is again misleading our soldiers. Our soldiers have offered up their lives to protect our freedoms. The least we can do is give them the honest truth. I do not think this settlement goes far enough. Thanks for listening.
