Request For Research Presentations For the PrivacyCon Conference
Contact: [redacted], [redacted] There is an enormous potential for scientific research with older and less commercially valuable industry-produced data. Given privacy and proprietary concerns, a trusted third party intermediary with experience with Non Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Data Use Agreements (DUAs), and secure data dissemination, is critical to enabling this research while protecting consumers' rights and privacy. Companies increasingly receive data access requests from individual researchers, yet lack the experience and capacity to vet requests for legitimacy, organize data for broad usability, and provide secure, confidentiality-protecting data access. ICPSR, with its more than half-century of experience securely and impartially providing access to restricted data, is positioned to fill this space. This presentation will discuss ICPSR's fully developed potential for responsibly disseminating research data products from companies to academic researchers.
