FTC, Department of Education Announce Workshop to Explore Privacy Issues Related to Education Technology
The amount of technology is troubling in the schools. A device does not take the place of a good teacher! Furthermore, with the passage of HR 4174 it is even more disturbing! The bill sets up a national database that will collect data on every man, woman, and child in America! Washington, D.C. has not proven that the Federal government adequately protects this sensitive data. In Splendora Independent School District, their system was hacked and the culprits obtained sensitive information such as names, addresses, and email addresses. In addition to obtaining this information, the hackers made threats towards some of the victims whose information was obtained.
