I have had the benefit of using and working with GI Jobs and Victory Media for the last several years. When I transitioned out of the service, I was introduced to the GI Jobs magazine. GI Jobs was and is the best resource available when veterans are looking for employment and furthering their education. Personally, it was a huge reason I have been able to provide for me family today. The magazine impacted me by showcasing successfully transitioned veterans that were sharing their insights on how to tackle this life-changing event. Working in corporate America, I was able to realize how civilians (non-military) had no idea the difficulty that every service member was facing when they transitioned. Most civilians believe transitioning is like when they graduated college and had to find their first job. It is nowhere close to that easy. GI Jobs not only equipped me with the knowledge I NEEDED, but they also helped build my self-confidence by sharing other service member's stories. I know that I am not alone when it comes to how service members view GI Jobs. I have visited several military bases and veteran hiring events around the country and they all support and rely on GI Jobs and Victory Media. Victory Media has also been an industry leader when it comes to supporting and educating our military, veterans, and military spouses. They are a significant reason why companies are now making a push to recruit, hire, and retain military spouses. Victory Media also helped create a vetrepreneur movement that encourages veterans to start their own businesses utilizing the skills and knowledge they obtained while serving our country. I would recommend sitting down with veterans and individuals that GI Jobs targets instead of listening to a civilian reporter who is trying to make a name for himself. Victory Media is continually working to find more effective and efficient ways to reach our veterans. The surveys that organizations are required to fill out to be recognized as "Military Friendly" have become more robust year after year. I believe Victory Media makes these changes to protect our brothers and sisters in arms. The fact that the FTC issued no fines or punishments is a statement on how Victory Media conducts business.
